Ocean oil spills pose a great danger to our health, ocean life, and the environment all around. Who knew something as plain and simple as human hair could be an effective, non-intrusive method of oil spill cleanup?
Great design thinking gets to the root of the problem, and finds a solution to resolve it.
Hair as an oil adsorbent is a fantastic answer to an oil spill, if the alternative is to burn or use other environmentally-destructive solutions to solve an already environmentally-toxic problem (we do not want to add fire to the fire).
This goes to show that our answers may already be quite literally in front of us, in plain sight, if we can connect the dots early enough.
