Biodegradable doesn’t mean better. Biodegradable can in fact pertain to anything since the definition doesn’t have a definitive timespan of when the object must biodegrade. With terms like these, any business can ride the wave and label themselves as environmentally-friendly.
Compostable on the other hand does have a timespan (90 days), but nothing will compost if it ends up in a landfill.
These labels mean nothing if we don’t first understand the systems they’re tied to.
